Level 2 chargers operate on a 240-volt circuit and typically deliver between 10 and 30 miles of range per hour of charging — enough to fully charge most electric vehicles overnight. Level 3 chargers, also called DC fast chargers, operate on much higher voltage and can charge a compatible vehicle to 80 percent in 20 to 45 minutes.
